What is Reiki?

Reiki is a powerful form of energy healing originating in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui.
The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Energy’ & is an effective, gentle and simple way of tapping into this energy, and transferring it for the benefit of the receiver, to stimulate the body’s own natural healing potential.

The system was based on living the Reiki Principles:

Just for today - Do not anger.
Just for today - Do not worry.
Honour your Parents, Teachers and Elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to every living thing.

What happens in a Reiki treatment?

The client remains fully clothed and either lies or sits comfortably while I hold my hands above, or non-intrusively on, certain areas of the body.
People can sometimes feel a warm sensation or tingling and they often feel very calm and relaxed afterwards. The Reiki energy continues to work beyond the session and its benefits can be felt over the longer term. Sometimes negative emotions can be released some time later.
