Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic tool that deals with the causes of problems rather than the symptoms. It’s a non-invasive, safe and natural method of treating a wide variety of conditions.
I induce a hypnotic state using various methods, including progressive relaxation and imagery. Once the client is in this state I use powerful positive suggestions, which are aimed at influencing behaviour and relieving symptoms

What is hypnosis like?
Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep but one of altered consciousness. There is a feeling of well-being, an ability to recall past events and the acceptance of new ideas that are not in conflict with personal values. Hypnotized subjects may be relaxed, but they are fully awake.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy not only treats the symptoms but also treats the course, by using relaxation we can break down the physical tension so that mental relaxation can follow. While the conscious mind is distracted powerful positive suggestions can be given for your betterment.
Can a Hypnotherapist control our minds?
Absolutely not, you are in control all the time.
Can a person get stuck in Hypnosis?
No. It simply doesn’t happen. You are able to come out of the session at any time – all you have to do is tell yourself to do so.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes. It is a safe, natural part of human experience. We all go in and out of hypnosis every day without even being aware of it. For example, when we are driving along a familiar route, or engrossed in a good film or book.
Can a person do or say something they don’t want to?
Absolutely not! If, during hypnosis, anyone said something to you which you did not agree with, you would automatically reject that suggestion and come straight out of hypnosis. Furthermore, you will only say what you are comfortable with saying.
What about what I’ve seen on TV?
Stage hypnosis is very different to what we use in the clinical setting, and often includes illusion or magic. It makes use of very extroverted individuals who actually want to do the things they are asked! They are completely in control of their situation the entire time, just as anyone in hypnosis is.
